OUR CATHOLIC IDENTITY

Legionaries of Christ

Sacred Heart Apostolic School is directed by Legionary priests, who form young men to know Christ’s love and carry it into the world.

WHO WE ARE

Priests and seminarians formed for mission

Driven by the desire of Jesus’ heart to set the world ablaze, the Legionaries of Christ work in communion with the Regnum Christi family to form apostles.

They are a Roman Catholic religious congregation of priests and seminarians who live in community and profess vows of poverty, chastity and obedience.

Their average fourteen-year formation prepares contemplative and apostolic missionaries who serve through education, youth work, parishes, missions, sacraments and spiritual direction.

LEGIONARIES OF CHRIST SPIRITUALITY

A spirituality rooted in the Heart of Christ

From the Constitutions of the Congregation of the Legionaries of Christ, Chapter 2, 8–17.

Christ-centeredness

Christ Jesus is the center, standard and example of Legionary life—known intimately in the Gospel, Eucharist and Cross, and imitated through self-giving.

The Sacred Heart & charity

Devotion to the Sacred Heart forms a meek and humble priestly heart; its fruit is merciful, creative and self-sacrificing service of others.

Kingdom, prayer & mission

Contemplative and evangelizing by nature, Legionaries seek union with God and bring the light of the Gospel to the world with joyful zeal.

REGNUM CHRISTI & ECYD

Formed for a life of faith in action

A Sacred Heart family that lives a vibrant, apostolic Christianity.

What is ECYD and Regnum Christi?

A Sacred Heart Apostolic School student’s lifestyle is inspired by the charism of Regnum Christi and ECYD—the adolescent expression of that charism.

Regnum Christi proposes a Christianity active and enthusiastic in love, helping its members live their baptismal commitments as Christian leaven in the world.

We seek to give glory to God and make the Kingdom of Christ present in the hearts of all people and in society.

One spiritual family, four vocations

The Legionaries of Christ, consecrated men and women, lay members, and adolescent ECYD members form one spiritual family, each answering the same call in a distinct way.

Together, they make Christ present by revealing his love, gathering people, forming apostles and sending them out.
