Start the day grounded in prayer and purpose

From the first call of “Christ Our King” to Mass and breakfast together, Sacred Heart mornings give each student a steady rhythm of faith, gratitude, and readiness for the day ahead.

The day begins when students hear the words, "Christ Our King" and respond, "Thy Kingdom Come!", and then comes the sound of feet hitting the floor to begin the day.

Morning prayers and Mass are the best ways to start the day. We offer our whole day to Jesus Christ.

After Mass, it's time to go to the cafeteria for a big breakfast.

LEARNING WITH PURPOSE

A classroom where truth takes root

Students enter class ready to seek truth, think clearly, and grow with the close support of teachers who accompany them toward their academic goals.

Time for class

Our teachers foster a passion for seeking truth and communicating. Additionally, they help us develop a unified Christian worldview, so we learn to see the world as Christ sees it.

Achieve academic goals

We dedicate ourselves to seek and learn the truth to be able to apply it to our daily life as Christian leaders. We have plenty of time to do our work so there is no homework. Our professors accompany us to make sure we are achieving our academic goals.

BROTHERHOOD BEYOND THE BELL

Time together that forms lasting friendship

Free time, daily recreation, and shared meals give students room to laugh, compete, encourage one another, and become brothers in the everyday moments.

Free time gives all of us a time to share a laugh, catch up on the news, explore our talents, or finish a project together.

Daily Recreation

We enjoy recreation every day. We also have SHAS basketball, soccer, and track and field teams that compete in a local league.

MEALS TOGETHER

Rita makes every meal delicious. Our favorite is her beef stroganoff, and we love her amazing chocolate chip cookies!

FAITH PUT INTO PRACTICE

Prayer, service, and guidance for the whole person

In adoration, shared chores, and personal spiritual mentoring, students learn to pray with their families, serve their community, and grow in the freedom of a well-formed conscience.

Once a week, we have individual adoration, and our families can join us online. We also have a weekly online rosary for all students and families. These are great ways for us to pray with our families.

Daily Chores

We work together to keep the building and grounds at Sacred Heart Apostolic School in top shape.

MENTORSHIP

We receive regular spiritual mentoring from one of the Legionaries.

A LIFE LARGER THAN THE CLASSROOM

Weekends of friendship, discovery, and faith

Whether on a local outing, a special trip, or an evening visit with Mary, students make memories together while discovering a world that calls them to live generously.

WEEKENDS

The weekend is the time to relax and enjoy your brothers at Sacred Heart. There are many opportunities for hikes, local field trips, and various fun events.

SPECIAL TRIPS

Each year there are special trips such as the Walk for Life, visits to the Legion's seminary in Cheshire, CT, or even an international trip, such as a trip to Rome. In 2023, we traveled to Rome for the ordination of Fr. Thomas White, LC, our first SHAS graduate, who entered when we first opened in 2005.
